Another impressive performance of the German team. However, especially in the first half they were lucky as Bulgaria had a few chances to score. Eventually, Germany gained a deserved win.
When I see the qualifying matches, which were all won, and think of Germany's performance at the World Cup in Spain, I ask myself what went wrong in between. Paul Breitner once said that they had given the championship away during the training days at lake Schluchsee. Of course, you cannot boil it down to one element, but I think there is something to it.
