Metodi Zdravkov led Bulgaria Team and got 3rd place in the SATUC World Cup 2018 Sofia. 1st selection of the Bulgarian team was from “Team of Hope”. Bulgaria player was from the football club “Concordia”, who are children placed in residential services or living in poor conditions. The Bulgarian team selected by “Sports Management Bulgaria” participated in the competition.

SATUC Thankfull the Bulgarian Football Union for this opportunity and capacity to organize such a wonderful event. Also, SATUC thanks Mr. Mihailov for taking this event so much to heart and responding immediately. Viktor Kirkov, executive director of “Sports Management Bulgaria” said That things worked out in the best possible way for Bulgaria to host an extremely prestigious, life-changing event for nearly 200 children. Also highlighted the support and assistance of Mihail Kasabov, vice president of the BFS, Pavel Kolev, deputy executive director of the BFS, and Valentin Mihov, a member of the Executive Committee of the BFS.

Sheikha Al Thani The Chairperson of SATUC and Borislav Mihailov, president of the Bulgarian Football Union, had signed a Memorandum of Agreement for holding the SATUC World Cup in Bulgaria. The SATUC World Cup was held at the Boyana National Football Base. About 200 children under the age of 17 from 12 teams from different parts of the world participated in it. Nigeria SATUC team walloped Liberia 4-0 in the final of the competition to win the trophy. The Nigerian U-16 side scored 26 goals in five matches and conceded only three throughout the competition. Nigeria’s red-hot striker, Arafat Hussain scored a brace against Liberia to increase his overall goals to nine to become the most valuable/highest goal scorer of the tournament.

Liberia was invited through the Ministry of Youth and Sports to participate in the tournament. The tournament is aimed at giving disadvantaged children and orphans space to excel, making them the center of attention, and, through encouragement and mentoring, encouraging their successful self-realization and putting a smile on their faces.
